How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through Apple. To cancel:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone
  2. Tap your name at the top β†’ Subscriptions
  3. Find Cribfolio and tap Cancel Subscription

You'll keep access until the end of your current billing period.

How do I delete my account?

In the Cribfolio app, go to Settings β†’ Delete Account. You'll be asked to type "DELETE" to confirm. This permanently removes all your properties, photos, ratings, and data within 24 hours.

Note: deleting your account does NOT cancel your subscription β€” Apple handles that separately. Cancel your subscription FIRST (see above), then delete your account.

How do I restore my purchases on a new device?

Open Cribfolio β†’ Settings β†’ Restore Purchases. You'll need to be signed into the same Apple ID you used to subscribe.

How do I turn AI features on or off?

The very first time you tap an AI feature (photo grade, AI question, document scan), Cribfolio shows a one-time consent screen explaining what is sent to Anthropic Claude β€” photos, your typed questions, and broad property stats β€” and what is never sent: your name, email, password, street address, or payment info. You tap I Agree, Enable AI once and you're done β€” we never ask again.

To turn AI off later, open Cribfolio β†’ Settings β†’ AI & Privacy and toggle off. The app keeps working β€” only the AI features go away.

I think I was charged in error β€” how do I dispute it?

All Cribfolio subscriptions are billed by Apple, not by us, which means refunds run through Apple's system:

  1. Open reportaproblem.apple.com on any browser
  2. Sign in with the Apple ID used for the purchase
  3. Find the Cribfolio charge and tap Report a Problem
  4. Apple typically responds within 24-48 hours with a refund decision

If Apple declines and you believe the charge was an error on our end, email support@cribfolio.com with your receipt and we'll do what we can β€” though final refund authority remains with Apple.

Is my data backed up?

Yes. All your property data is encrypted and synced to our secure cloud (Supabase). If you switch phones, simply sign in again on your new device β€” everything restores automatically.

Why is my rent estimate different from Zillow?

Cribfolio's pricing engine factors in things Zillow doesn't see: your kitchen + bathroom condition, hot tub or pool, Walk Score, and listing-to-lease premium. For most properties this means a more accurate estimate, but it can differ from Zillow's Zestimate by 5-15%. We tune our model continuously based on real rental outcomes.

What permissions does Cribfolio request and why?

We don't request location, contacts, or any other permissions.

Is Cribfolio available outside the US?

Currently Cribfolio is optimized for US properties (RentCast comps, Walk Score, school data are US-focused). International support is on our roadmap β€” email us if you want to be notified when your country is supported.
